HAIRITAGE • Lara Boglo-Price • acrylic on canvas
Hairitage depicts three West African women celebrating their beautifully crafted hairstyles. Their manifest
joy springs partly from the artistic freedom they have on the most intimate of canvases—their own bodies.

Artists of ‘Justice’ Anthology at FSCJ
Wilson Center Gallery to Showcase our Artists
Let’s come together for an Art Reception and Community ReadAround at FSCJ’s South Campus this Thursday, March 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. We’re pleased to partner with FSCJ to exhibit these works in a gallery setting, located in the Wilson Center for the Arts at 11901 Beach Boulevard.
At this event, you’ll engage with the art, artists, and writers from this year’s anthology. You’ll see works from artists like Lara Boglo-Price, Mary Atwood, Erin Kendrick, Hope McMath and many others, including curators Marsha Hatcher and Annelies Dykgraaf. You’ll be able to connect with members of WWf(a)C’s art and writing community and have the opportunity to get more copies of the most recent Anthology.
Please join us for this all-gender event, open to anyone in the community. Register HERE.
Cheers,

Celebrating our Newest Fellows, Interns
We are so pleased to announce that Teresa Cook and Emily Mitchell have been named as our Zora Neale Hurston Fellows in Placemaking, Community-Building, and Literary Arts for 2024-25.
Nominated by Louise Freshman Brown, these two outstanding artists will not only develop artwork over the next year as part of our latest literary theme celebrating ”Spaces and Places,” but will also offer workshops, attend and create community events, and of course, explore new ideas through their work. Congratulations, Teresa and Emily! Plus, check out Teresa’s latest exhibit at the Cummer Museum in conjunction with the Sporting Fashion: Outdoor Girls 1800 to 1960 exhibit. Finally, we are thrilled to have a new group of high school interns, led by outstanding teacher and facilitator, Anna Jacobson. —JW
