BIRDS and BLOOMS edition
Once again, we have curated a beautiful collection of art and writing drawn from our local community of women artists and writers. We’re celebrating the themes of our last two exhibitions: BIRDS (fall 2019) and BLOOMS (spring 2020).
Who knew when we decided on the theme of BLOOMS what might be blooming in the spring of 2020—not just flowers but also the coronavirus and the awakening of our collective consciousness on racism.
This year’s cover art is by artist Suzanne Pickett, one of our featured artists for BIRDS and BLOOMS. She caught the vibe of all that is exploding around us—and inside us—this past year. At a time when we have become too focused on the loudest and most visible, she asks us to consider the quiet and the invisible—and to turn our attention to what is inside us, not outside.
