Preview Party This Friday
10 Years. 10 Artists. 10+ Voices. Join Us!
Celebrate a Weekend of Transformation with Us
Join us for our Preview Party and Champagne Reception this Friday night, and the opening of METAMORPHOSIS: The Art of (a) Change on Saturday. We’re celebrating 10 years of Women Writing for (a) Change in Jax with 10 artists and 10+ speakers sharing their own journeys of transformation.
Come hear Melissa Ross of Mayor Donna Deegan’s office and Nancy Powell of Scenic Jax and The Riverfront Parks Now Coalition. They will update us on how women leaders are transforming Jacksonville, from inside City Hall to the banks of the St. Johns River.
You’ll also hear from our curator, Tatiana Kitchen, and several of our featured artists: Sharon Goldman, Elena Ohlander, Anna Miller, Marsha Glazière, Nykia Jackson, Barbara Hionides, Maya Freeman, Julissa Marie, Deja Gee, and Dimelza Broche.
We’re also pleased to feature Mamie Lue Anderton, a Jacksonville musician whose mission is ”to create an environment where people from all walk of life can connect and engage with each other through music” on Friday night. Saturday we’re happy to welcome back that colorful butterfly icon herself, Gina Martinelli, playing the piano in the music room.
Catering by Chef Andrea of The Farmery, the local farm-to-table bakery/bodega and Ashantae Green’s family business. Ashantae will also speak briefly on the transformational work she’s doing through her family business and her work as an elected official to create more food freedom in our community and beyond.
Please join us! Your tickets, your presence, and your purchases of art, journals, and our fabulous anthologies will support 10 more years of artists, writers, and women leaders transforming Jacksonville. Register soon because space is limited. We hope you can join us! All welcome. Register HERE.
