We Invite You to a Bookstore Crawl
These free circles are our gift to the community
Connection is the cure for almost everything that ails us—and writing is our favorite tool for finding it.
Here at Women Writing for (a) Change Jacksonville, we believe in the power of words to bring people together. In a time when so much seems to divide us, gathering around books, poetry, and writing offers a way to reconnect, to remember our shared humanity, and to strengthen the web of community—here in Jacksonville and beyond.
As Robin Wall Kimmerer beautifully reminds us in The Serviceberry:
“All flourishing is mutual.”
That’s why we’re thrilled to offer our Bookstore Crawl every Saturday in April, starting tomorrow! We’ll be visiting local indie bookstores, slowing our pace, and savoring connection—what we’re calling “The Snail Trail.” It’s the perfect antidote to a world driven by “to-do” lists.
So, take a breath. Snail down with us. Come enjoy a moment of presence, poetry, and people in your community.
Many seats are already filled, but we still have a few open spots—and we’ve got more free events coming up in May, too.

Frampton Court is a lovely estate, and the icing on the cake is The Orangery. From the brochure: “At the head of a seventeenth century ornamental Dutch canal is the exquisite Orangery. Described by Country Life magazine as “The prettiest garden building in England, The Orangery is one of the most unusual examples of Strawberry Hill gothic architecture in the country.” Who can resist this charm and beauty?
