Seeding Community: Last year we held a circle at Eartha White’s Farm and Market, and we’re back again this month! It’s just one of the ways we are building community through writing this year.—photo courtesy of Eartha White’s Farm and Market
Free Fall Programs
Calling all Writers, Seeders, and Leaders
Join us for five free events in the next two weeks!
Now that our fall classes are well underway, we’re turning our attention to our community-seeding efforts, and we’d love to have you with us.
Free Circle at Eartha White’s Farm and Market
This Saturday you can attend a free circle at Eartha’s Farm and Market called “Seeding Community.” It’s always fun to go to a farm and see the gardens, enjoy the harvest, and learn more about the land and waters we spring from. Writing makes it a deeper, richer, experience, and we know you’ll enjoy this opportunity to write together and plant more seeds of community connection. Led by Tru Leverette Hall. Details HERE.
Are You Ready to Build Your Leadership Capacity?
Then circle up with us at two upcoming Leadership Discernment Circles to find out more about our Conscious Feminine Leadership practices here at Women Writing for (a) Change. If you’re aware that much of today’s power- and domination-infused leadership methods don’t work, and would like to learn new ways to gather people together for shared efforts, please attend a discernment circle with us. Meet our certified facilitators and explore how your values can more deeply align with your professional and personal life. Details HERE.
New Art Exhibit Features Zora Neale Hurston Fellows
This fall we’re showcasing new works by artists Emily Mitchell and Teresa Cook on the theme of Spaces and Places, and opening day is Saturday, Oct. 26, from 2-4 p.m. The Cummer Family Foundation and advisor Louise Freshman Brown helped us fulfill our dream to enable two women artists to inspire our writing and our work this year as part of our Zora Neale Hurston Fellowship in Placemaking, Community-Building, and Literary Arts. Come see the first pieces of their artistic journey, and hear from place-maker and board member Kandice Clark on how art creates space and place. Register HERE.

The Last Word
“This above all—ask yourself in the stillest hour of your night: must I write? Delve into yourself for a deep answer. And if this should be affirmative, if you may meet this earnest question with a strong and simple “I must,” then build your life according to this necessity.”
—Letter One, 1903, Letters to a Young Poet, Rainer Maria Rilke
