”The Celtic imagination considers sacred places to be ’thin,’ or places where the veil between the worlds of heaven and earth seems especially permeable, and the worlds discernibly close to each other. Thin spaces exist between the now and the not-yet. Entering thin spaces is an opportunity that we don’t normally have—to slow down, to pause, to look with fresh eyes, to recover a sense of wonder about the world.”

Brave the Thin Places with Us
Now is your opportunity to slow down, to look with fresh eyes, to wonder—and pick up your pen to write
A writing circle is a thin place. It’s a place where we lift the veil between our worlds, see things we don’t normally see, find words and stories and ideas we did not know were just on the other side of our consciousness.
At Women Writing for (a) Change, we fiercely protect this space. We consider it sacred. Many of us have taken the opportunity to enter that space, to lift the veil, to explore the unknown lands of past and present. It’s a world of imagination and creativity, and we do it together. In community. Carefully holding each other’s words. We know this is sacred work.
We do hope you’ll join us for a writing circle this fall, braving the thin places, entering these safe and sacred places. Our Fall Sampler next Wednesday will give you a chance to see what we’re all about. And the Writing Through Life’s Transitions circle Tuesday will be a guided journey through the thin places. Join us!

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO LATELY
This summer I not only walked in the woods, but I also found pathways, bridges, and passages to other worlds. These ”thin spaces exist not only outside us but also within us. Each of us stands at the threshold of our own pain or wonder, our own thin space,“ says Julianne Stanz. I must agree.—JW

These amazing women attended our Spring Sampler to explore the theme of transformation. We hope to see more new faces next Wednesday! Learn more at the Register Here button below.

“We stand at the threshold of a thin place. We are gatekeepers to a sacred chamber of the inner world. We can open the door and welcome others into this inner space, or we can close ourselves off to the world around us.” —from Braving the Thin Spaces
