Portugal Writing Retreat Exploratory Circle

Join us for our third annual international writing retreat, May 23-29, 2027, in partnership with Casa Erica Retreats.Explore Lisbon, Portugal, a city shaped by centuries of stories, art, and seafaring. We’ll be writing, wandering, and weaving together a variety of intimate experiences.

In this informational session, you’ll learn more about the retreat we’ve planned in a bohemian corner of the city called Principe Real, in a wonderful old family-owned hotel. Our travel host, Heather Deyo, will answer your questions about travel, lodging, and activities planned for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

You’ll also meet our retreat host, Jennifer Wolfe, founder of Women Writing for (a) Change Jacksonville, who stayed in this wonderful hotel as a newbie teacher for the American Language Institute in Lisbon! Some 40 years later…she’ll be back!

For a preview of what we’ll be experiencing, check out the retreat brochure online: https://www.womenwritingjacksonville.org/portugal-retreat/

This retreat is the capstone to a year of writing inspired by our Linens and Laces art exhibition theme. In Portugal, we plan to check out all the beautiful textiles found there, and follow the threads of our own stories wherever they may lead.
